HELM HOLT'S PRINCIPLE - By Orifice

Designed on the principle that when a mass tshat is carrying a flow and pressure transient, is forced to accelerate through a small orifice, by traveling along a path of reducing diameter, with an include angle of not greater than 7 degrees - so that a wave return is not generated - the explosion into a large diameter chamber full of compressible liquid will dissipate the pressure by distance to the first point of reflection and moderate the flow by compression of mass. Delta P is therefore the "price".
